Michigan School Readiness
amcab Early Childhood Education Component also provides a preschool program funded through the Michigan Department of Education called the Michigan School Readiness Program. The State of Michigan provides funding for this high-quality preschool program to serve four year old children who may be at risk of becoming educationally disadvantaged or who may have special needs. We serve MSRP children in Marquette, Gwinn, and West Marquette County.
There are 24 different risk factors that are looked at when determining eligibility for children in the Readiness Program.
Some of these risk factors include:
Children enrolled in the Michigan School Readiness Program must have a minimum of two out of the 24 risk factors documented and at least 50% of the children placed must have the risk factor of low household income.
